And so it ends…first plane of the season has landed at the South Pole, bringing an end to eight months of isolation. Arriving from Rothera, en route to McMurdo where the weather is clearing, this Basler BT-67 is a remanufactured DC-3 (new engines, strengthened airframe, upgraded avionics, and modified wings).
