Three planet winter at the South Pole

Jupiter (left) & Mars (right) shine either side of the IceCube Lab at the South Pole, which is the control center for the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. Saturn is also visible, with the center of the Milky Way as back drop. The Neutrino Observatory involves thousands of sensors occupying 1 km3 of space under the ice at the Pole.
