The Krill Race: Britain’s October Test at CCAMLR

The Southern Ocean krill fishery has become one of the most closely watched issues in Antarctic governance. On 12 August, the fishery reached its 620,000-tonne catch trigger and closed for the second consecutive year before the end of the season, bringing renewed scrutiny to how one of the world’s most important marine resources is managed.
